What do you get when you combine zombies with the venerable ‘Ninja Gaiden’ franchise? The answer is ‘Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z’.

We went hands-on with the upcoming third-person action slasher that’s being developed by Team Ninja / Spark Unlimited and published by Tecmo Koei and we’re happy to say that the game should fully remove the foul taste that ‘Ninja Gaiden 3’ left in mouths of many.

Forgoing realistic graphics for a highly stylized anime theme ‘Yaiba’, represents a drastic departure from the prior games in the ‘Ninja Gaiden’ series. Rest assured however, the frenetic gameplay and over-the-top action will not disappoint.

‘Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z’ isn’t due for release on the Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 until March of 2014 but you can check out our off-screen video below.
