The 'Songbird' from the 'Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition'

For all of the hype that preceded the release of ‘Bioshock Infinite’, the game proved to be exceptionally well conceived and beautifully executed. Ken Levine and the development team at Irrational Games delivered the true “AAA” classic that they promised.

As with the previous games in the venerable ‘Bioshock’ series, several limited edition SKUs accompanied the disc-only standard edition. Most impressive and exorbitant among these was the ‘Ultimate Songbird Edition’ which included a meticulously crafted, hand-painted resin statue cast in the image of the game’s mechanized avian nemesis, the ‘Songbird’.

Designed and released in limited quantities by Irrational’s own concept artist, Robb Cobb, the 9.75” ‘Songbird’ statue features exceptional detail from the sculpture itself to the ‘Columbia’-inspired packaging. Although the cost of the statue was clearly reflected in retail price of the ‘Ultimate Songbird Edition’ the value is immeasurable for true ‘Bioshock’ fans. We’re calling it another must-have for fans of video game collectibles. See more images of this amazing piece below.
