A Look Back at a Few of Our Favorite Kotobukiya Collectibles of the Past YearJanuary 13, 2014
When it comes to premium statues, Kotobukiya has earned a lofty pedigree among collectors. Having amassed an enviable stable of licenses over the last sixty-three years that includes many of the icons of science fiction, pop culture, and video games; it’s always a thrill to see what the companys talented team of artists will unleash.
Unsurprisingly, 2013 was another year filled with enticing offerings from Kotobukiya. Our favorites from the video games genre included the imaginatively stylized Bishoujo Commander Shepard from Mass Effect 3 and the sixth-scale ARTFX recreation of Dead Space 3s protagonist, Isaac Clarke.
For superhero fans there were plenty of Kotobukiya collectibles to clamor about. Our favorites included the ARTFX Iron Man 3 Mark XLII figure, sixth-scale Joker statue (inspired by Alan Moores acclaimed The Killing Joke comic) as well as the company’s line of tenth-scale ARTFX statues based on DCs New 52.
With a release schedule already brimming with a diverse array of collectibles inspired by the Star Wars, DC Comics, and Marvel universes, 2014 looks to be another exciting year for Kotobukiya fans. Well be featuring our favorites here over the coming months, but for now check out a few of last years best below.
