Even though were longtime fans, its still hard to believe that G.I. Joe has been around since 1964. Over the last 50 years, the franchise has yielded a vast assortment of toys and action figures that have varied widely in scale, quality, and appeal among collectors. Given the swing in quality, its always comforting when a company like Sideshow Collectibles gets behind the wheel creatively as the results are certain to be stunning.
Enter the Sideshow Collectibles Snake Eyes and Timber statue. This delectable museum quality sculpture is easily one of our favorite G.I. Joe pieces ever. Standing 20 inches tall and weighing over 12 pounds, this robust 1/5th scale polystone depiction of the Joes silent, black-clad commando and his faithful wolf is impressively detailed from every angle. Snakes sculpted shoulder pack is a noteworthy example of the dedication of Sideshows artists to delivering finely wrought perfection. Its evident that considerable effort went into meticulously recreating what is ultimately a superfluous accessory. Its extremely done and wed be remiss to not mention it.
Although theres no articulation, the Snake Eyes and Timber statue, includes multiple right hand models that can be removed and swapped out to display Snake holding a silenced pistol, ninjato, or his fateful Arashikage sword. The Sideshow-exclusive version also includes an additional head portrait depicting the classic goggled look in addition to the standard editions visor and mask.
The Sideshow Collectibles Snake Eyes and Timber statue is a must-have for G.I. Joe fans. Its a rare and pricey find, but its worth the time, effort, and expense to track down. Check out our shots below to see why.
