Sideshow’s Stunning and Seductive Black Widow Premium Format FigureMay 13, 2014
Brace yourselves Marvel fans. One up-close glance at the newly released Sideshow Collectibles Black Widow Premium Format Figure will likely make this captivating statue too difficult to resist. Thats clearly not a bad thing however. This nearly 18.5 polystone depiction of Natasha Romanova is as marvelously appointed as it is amply proportioned; making it another must-have addition to Sideshows ultra-detailed Premium Format line.
Although the sculpt of Sideshow’s Black Widow figure is inspired by the characters comic book aesthetic rather than her more recent big screen portrayal by actress, Scarlett Johansson, the contours and finish of the portrait are robust and remarkably lifelike. The statues fitted black faux-leather body suit is also extremely well done though arguably a bit on the revealing side. The fabrics luster and naturalistic creasing work in concert with the figures dynamic pose to truly bring the stunning assassin to life.
Black Widows weapons also require special mention. The immense 9.5 sniper rifle permanently affixed to the right hand boasts a detailed sculpture of its own and features a realistically weathered metallic finish. Depending on the edition, the figures left hand may offer a little more variety. In addition to the silenced pistol that comes sculpted into the left fist by default, the Sideshow Exclusive variant comes with an additional knife-wielding sculpt that can be swapped for an alternate display option.
With its stunning sculpture, meticulously crafted costume, and realistic accessories, the Sideshow Collectibles Black Widow Premium Format Figure is one of the years most sublime releases. Despite a retail price of roughly $360 USD, fans and collectors may find it difficult to withstand the allure of this stunning reproduction of Marvels iconic covert operative. Given the figures quality and painstaking detail, its unlikely to disappoint.
