Joining the growing assortment of geek-centric, swag-filled subscription boxes is the recently launched Marvel Collector Corps. Making good on the promise of delivering an alluring assemblage of goodies every two months, the first of the Marvel and Funko designed care packages was chock full of items that diehard superhero buffs would be justifiably compelled to hoard.
Coinciding with the big screen launch of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the inaugural Marvel Collector Corps box (which began reaching early subscribers in April and May) was aptly stuffed with a range of limited edition Avengers-inspired items including a t-shirt, comic book, pin, patch, 3-inch vinyl Ultron Prime figurine, and exclusive, 6-inch Funko Pop! Hulkbuster Bobble-Head Figure. While the accompanying items are nice, its Funkos lustrous vinyl depiction of the gargantuan Mark XLIV that takes center stage as the most compelling draw. The promise of future boxes brimming with the company’s uniquely stylized exclusives should help to drive the appeal and membership of the Collector Corps among avid Marvel and Funko buffs.
