As in , the west halls of Tokyo’s iconic Big Sight Exhibition Center were once again abuzz with captivating sights, sounds, and thrills as the International Tokyo Toy Show 2016 got underway on June 9th. Marking the 55th anniversary of Japan’s highest profile toy convention, it’s clear that this year’s exhibitors have gone to great lengths to dazzle attendees with a flurry of new action figures, statues, games, amusement machines, and high-tech gadgets.

Organized by the Japan Toy Association, Tokyo Toy Show 2016 runs from Thursday, June 9th through Sunday, June 12th. Sticking to the timeline from prior years, the first two days are restricted to trade and industry professionals while the latter two are open to the general public. Admission to the show remains free of charge.

Over the course of the four-day convention, the throng of typically enthusiastic attendees can get up close, and often hands-on, with tens of thousands of the latest product offerings from the 160 companies in attendance. Notable exhibitors at this year’s show include Hot Toys Japan, Bandai, Tomy Company, Ltd., Capcom, Lego, Mattel, Sony Creative Products, and many more.
