For attendees with even a passing affinity for pop culture collectibles, the Hot Toys Japan booth at this years International Tokyo Toy Show (running from Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 12th) was a must-see destination. Over the course of the conventions four days, toy industry professionals and the general public were treated to the companys sprawling, masterfully staged display of products inspired by the heroic icons of comic books and film.
As in , Hot Toys showcased a diverse and enthralling assortment of their own goods, as well as those from other manufacturers including Hasbro, Beast Kingdom, DC Collectibles and others. Funko products were seemingly everywhere with a huge assortment of Pop! vinyl bobble-heads, stylized Dorbz, Mopeez plush figures, and other collectibles leveraging their myriad of licenses including Star Wars, DC, Marvel, and Ghostbusters.
Not surprisingly, Hot Toys sixth scale lineup took center stage. Action figures based on the original Star Wars Trilogys Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett were present alongside The Force Awakens Kylo Ren, and First Order Stormtroopers. Superheroes were also in the spotlight with sixth scale depictions of DCs caped crusader based on Batman: Arkham City, Batman (1989), The Dark Knight, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sharing the Hot Toys exhibit with Captain America, Iron Man, and Ant-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
