Facing Off with the Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition StatueJune 18, 2017
The Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition is the fittingly grand version of Bandai Namco’s iconic three-dimension brawler that duly marks the thrilling and powerful conclusion to the game series that chronicles the Mishima clan’s tumultuous 20-year fued. It’s aimed squarely at fans that are itching to snag the definitive version of the game; and those dedicated Tekken enthusiasts aren’t likely to be disappointed.
While the comparatively lavish Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition comes bearing a suitably premium price tag (with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $149.99), buyers are treated to an assortment of digital and physical extras. Downloadable items include “Day One Edition” content featuring the bonus character, Eliza (from the 2013 free-to-play digital PlayStation 3 release, Tekken Revolution) as well as console exclusive bonuses including a Tekken 6 full game download for Xbox One buyers and legacy costumes from Tekken 4 and Tekken 2 for Jin, King, and Xiaoyu, in addition to a “Jukebox Mode” that allows PlayStation 4 gamers to listen to classic Tekken tracks and create custom playlists to enjoy while they play.
Physical items include the Tekken 7 game on Blu-Ray; a Steelbook metallic game case adorned inside and out with art from the game; the Tekken 7 soundtrack on CD featuring 10 epic songs from the game; and an exclusive premium statue designed and manufactured by Pure Arts. The clear centerpiece of the Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition, the beautifully sculpted and painted figurine stands approximately 12-inches tall and 18-inches wide and boasts a screen-accurate dynamic depiction of Kazuya in mid-air as he delivers a jump kick to a fiercely resolute Heihachi. Both fighters’ portraits and battle-scarred musculatures have been impressively realized, as have the details of their outfits.
Namco Bandai’s high-end Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition began shipping on June 2, 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It released alongside “Digital Deluxe” and standard versions of the game that hit current generation Sony and Microsoft consoles as well as PC.
